Enhance student’s physical well-being, and develop in them a passion for sports and other physical activities.
Curriculum
The aim of the PE Department in ACS(P) is to equip all pupils with fundamental movement skills and games concepts which they can apply to any sport. It also aims to encourage all pupils to lead a physically active lifestyle right through to their adulthood.
Programme
Learning for Life Programme (LLP) – Building Character through Swimming
- The aim of this programme is for all pupils to achieve at least a bronze award.
- All P4 to P6 pupils undergo a 8-session swimming programme during their PE periods.
Programme for Active Learning (Sports & Games)
The Sports and Games module aims to develop communicative skills and teamwork among P2 pupils through various enjoyable games.
Programme for Active Learning (Outdoor Education)
The Outdoor Education module emphasises on development of interpersonal skills, relationship management and responsible decision-making competencies for P1 pupils.
PAL (Outdoor Education)
In this module, students will be engaged in exploring, experimenting and discovering the outdoors. They will express themselves via fun and games. Key elements in the programme are Outdoor Skills, Environmental Awareness and the SEL Competencies. Students will explore the outdoors and make links to concepts learnt in the classroom (i.e. science and art). They will experience outdoor activities in an engaging and fun way. Fun elements will be infused throughout the lessons.
PAL (Sports and Games)
In this module, students are taught the game of parachute and mini bowling. The main focus in these two games is to bring out curiosity, creativity and confidence of each student. The students learn team building skills in a group setting. Through the two games, students will learn to self- manage, relate with others and make responsible decisions for themselves and for the team.
Events
Annual Games Day
- Games Day is for all pupils from P1 to P6.
- This event aims at mass participation and the pupils are encouraged to sign up.
